Sea Smart Shoreline Cleanup

Sea Smart’s shoreline clean-ups are a fun and engaging way for students to learn about plastic pollution, marine animals, and how to protect our ocean. We will also measure metrics such as the area of habitat cleaned, the weight of garbage removed and the number of cigarette butts removed. This data allows you to share your students’ efforts in a measurable and meaningful way!

Detailed information on where to meet: Meet at  EasyPark Lot 66 - Kitsilano McNicoll, near the intersection of Arbutus St and McNicoll Ave. Please note that there are two parking lots at Kits Beach named EasyPark Lot 66, but only one parking lot is at the intersection of Arbutus St and McNicoll Ave. SeaSmart will have the equipment set up on the grassy area beside the parking lot. 

Please arrive 15 minutes early. We will email out a waiver that needs to be signed to participate

Each person attending is required to purchase a ticket - parents included.

Please wear weather appropriate clothing including closed toe shoes, and bring along plenty of water and a snack. 

Younger siblings are welcome to join, but if they participate, SeaSmart wants to include them in the total and therefore would require a paid ticket. If you want to bring along younger siblings, I would suggest playing in the sand with some beach toys to save costs.
