Group A (approx. ages 4-9):

Planetarium Show: Our Night Sky

The night sky is full of changes and they are predictable! Constellations change with the seasons, planets become visible and even the length of the night changes. We'll introduce seasonal and diurnal changes, seasonal constellations and other wonders of the night time sky such as the Big Dipper, Little Dipper and North Star.

Workshop: This Little Light of Mine

What is light and how do astronomers make use of its properties? Students will experiment with different tools and use observation and questioning skills to develop a better understanding of the properties of light and sources of natural and artificial light.

Group B (ages 10+):

Planetarium Show: Exploring Extremes

Discover more about how the exploration of extreme environments on Earth help scientists prepare for exploration beyond our planet.

Workshop: Extremophile: A Look for Life Outside of Our Solar System

Using the Drake Equation as our guide, students will contemplate the chances of contacting intelligent life. By analyzing the information gathered by the Kepler Telescope, information released by the SETI Institute and NASA discoveries, students will come to their own conclusions on whether alien life exists somewhere in the galaxy.
