Please Note : We have confirmation from HR MacMillan Space Centre that for school groups the vaccine passport rule does not apply.  (masks are required ages 5 and up)

Join us for a field trip to the HR MacMillon Space Centre ... The field trip is geared towards ages 5-12 however all ages are welcome to come. 

A ticket must be purchased for all children over the age of 1 and any adults attending. 

An outline of what the day will look like ....

10:15am Arrival

10:30am Begin in Cosmic Courtyard- Students can enjoy a range of activities like morphing themselves into an alien, touching a Moon rock, trying to lift a meteorite and building a Mars rover.

11am Moon Launch: Design a vehicle to remotely explore the Moon? Students will apply their understanding of the Moon’s unique environment to begin an iterative design process to develop a plan and prototype model of their concept.

12pm Lunch

12:30 Our Closest Neighbour- The Moon is more than just an object we see in the sky. It is a place that has inspired people to dream and explore. Students will explore different views of the Moon and develop an understanding of Earth’s closest neighbour from a historical, First Peoples’ and scientific perspective.

1:30pm Planet Hunters- Astronomers use their understanding of the relative position between a star and its planets to find planets beyond our solar system. Discover more about the planet hunting techniques astronomers use on their quest to find signs of life in the universe.

2pm- Depart
